Great Kitchen Ideas:
Hang A Small Memo Board
This is a great way to display recipes and grocery lists, so you
don't have to hunt when it's time to cook or shop.
Setup A Snack Station
A toaster, electric kettle and a small microwave provide a place for
others to make a quick bite without having to bother you.
Ingredient Placement
Store snack items close to where you will prepare them. Peanut
butter, cans of tuna, chips, boxed fruit such as raisins, crackers,
etc all in one cupboard. This should help cut down on the time and
space needed to whip up a quick snack for your little ones while
doing other tasks.
Counter Top Containers
A colorful container by the stove keeps your favorite tools at the
ready. A small dish with plastic spoons, drinking draws and napkins
helps cut down on the hunting for and washing of more utensils when
giving the little ones a snack. It's much easier to provide a
plastic throw away spoon and a pudding cup to your little one
instead of having to wash a mixing bowl then a pudding dish along
with the spoons to eat the yummy treats.
More Work Room Always Helps
Clear your counters completely. Then put back small appliances and
utensils as you use them. This helps create a less cluttered
customized work space that fits your needs. After a while have a
look in the cupboards to see what you haven't put back over time.
Those items that you only use once in a while or never could bring
you a little extra cash selling on eBay or dropping off at the local
thrift shop. You know the old saying out of sight out of mind.
Use Every Available Storage Space You Have
A quick look through your local Wal-Mart, Target, or home store will
do wonders. Look into the storage section for nifty ideas. For
example those over the door pocket shoe holders work great on the
inside of a pantry door. You can place all those gravy or sauce
packets neatly in a pocket. Make sure to get a clear see through
pocket holder so you can see what's in there. Again out of sight out
of mind if you don't know it's there how will you ever use it.
Save Time With Everyday Tasks
Leave your favorite clean pot on the stove after washing it. Do this
for the main pot you use every day in meal preparation. It will save
you the hassle of trying to cram it in the cupboard and you'll have
it at the ready when it's time to cook. Preset your coffee pot the
night before for your morning coffee. When you wake it will be ready
to help you jump start your day.
