Homemade Cultured Buttermilk

Makes 12 Servings

 
Ingredients:
1 cup cultured buttermilk
4 cups milk (can be powdered or regular milk, you won't be able to tell the difference!)
Quart or gallon container. (I save a couple of quart/gallon containers from store bought milk.)
 
Instructions:
Pour buttermilk and regular milk together.
Shake to mix together.
Close top or cover @ room temp. for 24 hours.
Shake well, store in fridge.
 
Alternative Instructions/Variations:
This recipe calls for one part cultured buttermilk to four parts milk.

e.g., 1 cup/quart/gallon buttermilk to 4 cups/quarts/gallons of regular milk.

"Always" set aside one cup/quart/gallon of buttermilk to make more.
 
Serve With:
Use for anything you use buttermilk for!! To drink and cook with.
